Project L-316 is an example of a functional house in the style of a modern barn.
Thanks to its simple body, the house is cheap to build and maintain.
It has a living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, a comfortable bathroom and a gabled roof.
Its uniqueness lies in its non-standard approach.
Despite its small size, it feels spacious thanks to the mezzanine floor.
The entrance to the building is located on the side of the longer elevation.
A door leads directly to the central area combining the functions of dining room, kitchen and living room.
An open staircase leads to the attic, where, in addition to the mezzanine, a comfortable and large bedroom and a loft accessible from an attached ladder or from outside the building have found their place.
Gravity ventilation was designed in the project.
The building has a large air volume with a mezzanine.
With a large window in the attic and no walls separating the mezzanine bedroom, air exchange takes place extremely quickly (so-called “ventilation”).
Due to the “attic” above the bathroom, recuperation can also be easily implemented.
Electric heating has been designed using electric mats.
Heating mats are used for installation in a thin layer of tile adhesive, self-leveling compound, etc.
The standard minimum thickness of the floor layer is 5-8 mm, and the heating mat is 3-4.5 mm thick.
This minimizes the rise of the floor level.
Electric heating mats consist of a thin cable securely attached to a self-adhesive fiberglass mesh, usually 50 cm wide.
Thin heating mats are manufactured as ready-made heating parts of a certain area (i.e., 0.5, 1, 1.5…12 sq. m.) together with a power cable (supply cable) and hermetically sealed connections. VENTILATION The rooms: kitchen and bathrooms have gravity exhaust ventilation.
The bathroom door should be equipped with a supply grille at the bottom of the door with an area.

Gravitational ventilation through window ventilators/window drifts. ROOF STRUCTURE The roof covering is designed from sheet metal, mineral wool insulation and gypsum board finish are included in the roof structure.
Basic cross-sections of the elements: rafter 8x16cm; two-branched rafter – 2x 4x16cm ties (connected by lacings every 50cm); purlin 16x20cm; post 16x16cm; masonry 16x16cm.
Allowable weakening of rafters a=3cm.
Connect wooden elements with nails using metal fasteners – system sheets, e.g.: METAL-MIX s.c. company.

WOOD FLOOR Designed as a wooden beam ceiling, beam cross-section (bxh) 8x16cm, 16x16cm spaced according to the drawing. The /corresponding beams are knotted together. On the cantilever connect the floor layers – boards with the beam on the increased number of fasteners – nails./ Spruce or pine wood of min.C24 class. Protect all wooden elements against corrosion and pests with available preparations based on salt solutions. FUNDAMENTAL WALLS Designed as concrete, monolithic, 24cm thick, reinforced on both sides with mesh 3 with 10x10cm mesh (anti-shrinking mesh), smooth steel.
